Outdoor Worship

Meet us on the lawn at Mount Olive Lutheran Church for a service with an outdoor concert feel. We will be showcasing the collaborative art we made at Rochester Pride, experimenting with a brief and casual liturgy, sharing generous communion, and inviting guest musicians to join us.

This month our guest musician is the amazing Dianna Parks - Executive Director of Good Earth Village, incredible solo artist, and lead singer in the fan favorite ABBA tribute band: fABBAulous!!

Hope to see you there!

It stands for: Faith Seeking Understanding 2.0

This is a fresh take on a much loved book-club and Pub Theology. Those who remember the original FSU (named for St. Anselm's 11th-century expression Fides quaerens intellectum), you'll notice an adaptation: Instead of larger books read as homework to discuss once a month, there will be no homework. Instead, we will present a bit of an article, podcast, or film to digest in real time, and then explore together.

We’ll gather in the “Olive Pit” at Mount Olive - follow the signs or a friendly face!

No Olive Branch Today

On this Earth Day, your Olive Branch leaders are at a Continuing Ed event in the Twin Cities. The event planners say they hope we will leave “with a refreshed sense of our own relationship to scripture.”

Sounds pretty great, right?

We hope you are able to take time to enjoy the abundant gifts of the Divine’s good creation today.

Text on the printed page + your unique artsy instincts = an experience that rouses the words Off The Page and into our lives.

Nope, you don’t have to be an artist. In fact, no past experience with either the Bible or art is required.

Movie Night: God and Country

It’s Movie Night at Pop’s Art Theater - a public showing of the new film God and Country.

This is a political documentary from producer Rob Reiner about Christian Nationalism. According to the trailer and reviews, the film critiques the premise of Christian Nationalism with interviews with pastors, theologians, politicians and teachers. Meet us there and plan for a time of debriefing after.

This is an important topic, especially in this election year; it’s also an intense one and may not be for everyone. We bless you as your decide if it’s the right thing for you now.

Storytelling Workshop

Exploring the Craft of Storytelling

Join us on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church for an exciting event dedicated to the art of storytelling. Whether you're a seasoned storyteller or simply curious about the craft, this in-person gathering is the perfect opportunity to open your imagination and build your confidence.

Our intrepid leader for the day is Pro Storyteller and Moth GrandSLAM champion Rev. Andrea Roske-Metcalfe. As a pastor of Diamond Lake Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, she brings insight, imagination, and a heart of care. As the founder of the Pray-Ground movement, Andrea brings passion for the energy of children in worship. And as a storyteller, she brings imagination and love to communication.

This event is open to the public, and will be geared toward rostered and lay leaders in church settings.

A simple lunch is included amid a full day of content and fun.

Whether you're an aspiring writer, public speaker, or simply someone who appreciates the power of a well-told tale, this event is for you. Mark your calendar and join us for Exploring the Craft of Storytelling!

You may also register in-person at Mount Olive to pay by cash or check. $50 early bird tickets are available through January 13th. Full ticket price is $75.
